We would like to remind our customers that we are approaching BMSB season, it is time to be aware of the Import Biosecurity Requirements related to the prevention of BMSB into New Zealand.
These requirements apply to target risk cargo from affected origins and the duration of the BMSB seasons is from ETD Origin 1 st September 2020 to ETA NZ 30 th April 2021.
MPI is in the middle of a consultation on proposed amendments to the Import Health Standard (IHS) for Vehicles, Machinery and Parts (VMP) and for Sea Containers from Italy. Consultations close on 17 th July and we are expecting to have updated information from MPI following the completion of this process.
One of the proposed changes to note is that three additional Countries have been added to the Schedule 3 list of risk countries for VMP. These are Moldova, Portugal, and Ukraine.
